YHFC STUMBLE AFTER GOOD START

YHFC 7,s struggled to get into their second game of the season when they went down 6-2 against Network Rail at the Roko Stadium last night. A poor start had them 4-0 down within 15 minutes and a weary squad trudged off to a half time pep talk and reminder that the they would be in the pub in 45 minutes at 5-0. Nothing seemed to go the Jambo,s way and if it wasn,t for some tough tackling and heroic goalkeeping it could have been a lot worse.
With a smile back on their faces (thinking of the White Horse in 45 mins) the York Jambo,s started the second half almost as badly as the first!!! Rich Jono in goal was in world class form and pulled off 4 or 5 unbelievable saves early on. Some great blocking challenges and gritty defending seemed to galvanise the team and some free flowing football followed. Ghandi continued with his free scoring form to pull one back and then as happens with London buses, another goal from Callum came along with a blockbuster from 4 yards out. The second half was won 2-1 and in the last 10 minutes Network Rail were out on their feet and The Jambo,s could easily of had another couple of goals but for their keeper. To say we were fitter than them boads well for next week and for the 10k run in aid of cancer research that even after major shaming, some Jambo,s still haven,t signed up for.
Rich Jono was the outstanding Man Of The Match. Well done Rich.
The team was Rich Jono, Bruno, Ninja, Stampy, Ghandi, Barcs, Droopy Drawers, Furry and Kev.
