Happy New Year

The York Hearts committee would like to wish all members a happy new year. 2008 has been a good year for York Hearts with some great trips, a fantastic raceday in May, another superb St Andrew's Night, and a pleasing number of new members joining up, not to mention the regular pub, curry and six/seven-a-side nights. Here's to an equally-good 2009, hopefully kickstarted with two wins over the wee team in the next two weekends.

Well, Well, Well

Anyone interested in going to Motherwell v Hearts on Wednesday 7 January should contact Gav on yorkhearts@yahoo.co.uk or 07791 626238. This isn't an official trip, but one or two may be going if anyone wants to join us.

Programmes

This Saturday's Hearts v Dundee Utd programme is likely to include a report on our recent St Andrew's Night bash. It will also be a special tribute issue in honour of the late John Cumming, Hearts' most-decorated player. Gav is going to the game, and is happy to take orders for copies of the programme. Please say if you want a copy regardless, or only if we are in it. Programmes are £3 each.

Ale and Hearty

The beer is here! All those who ordered Hearts of Gold, our very own limited-edition ale, can now collect it from Brigantes in Micklegate.

If you didn't order any, but would now like some, then get in touch and we'll see what we can do.

The picture above was taken early this morning, since when Badger has resolutely refused to move from the spot...

Jambos smash long losing run

BREAKING NEWS: CHRISTMAS came early for York Hearts tonight, as they finally ended the bleakest run of results in their history.
A hat-trick from Gavin Anderson and one apiece from Steve Carroll and Adam Burnett gave the maroons a thumping 5-1 victory over Deportivo at Clifton Moor.
The result ended a run of 22 games without a win, stretching back exactly 100 days.
Look forward to the players' own take on events below...

Newest member

York Hearts says a hearty congratulations to the Burnett family, following the safe arrival of baby Elizabeth Blair Burnett last Monday.
The Burnetts have family membership in York Hearts, so Elizabeth automatically became a York Hearts member - our youngest to date.
Congratulations all round!
