Good things do indeed come to those who wait.
After 13 unsuccesful attempts, York Hearts finally got their first win of the season in the Football Mundial Championship last night, thanks to an excellent team performance against White Magic.
The Jambos entered the match anchored to the foot of the table, but two first-half goals from lone striker Sam Outing and a vintage display of passing football all over the park gave Hearts a thoroughly deserved 2-0 win that lifted them off the bottom.
Outing nearly grabbed a hat-trick in the dying minutes, but his left foot drive was touched on to the outside of the post.
The Hearts squad was: T. Outing; Aitchison; Beattie; Carroll; Ong; S. Outing.
Goalscorer Sam was named man of the match.
The Thursday team are back in action tomorrow night, against Network Rail.
