York Hearts FC followed up last weeks victory with another win in the PlayFootball league last night at Clifton Moor over Jetstream.
In a somewhat niggly and bruising encounter the Jambos managed to keep their cool and hold on to win by the odd goal in 7. Despite losing a goal after just 10 seconds of play, YHFC fought back admirably and controlled the remainder of the first half with some breathtaking passing movements and quality finishing. An equalising goal after 3 mins from Ong started the comeback and the match may have turned in the 8th minute when T Outing saved a somewhat dubiously awarded penalty. 3 more goals in quick succession from Phenomenon, S Outing and Dall put the Jambos into a 4 goal to 1 lead. The loss of a goal in the 23rd minute came just as Jetstream had a player Blue Carded for an assault on Ong but despite being a man to the good YHFC went in at Half Time with only the 2 goal advantage.
The second half was a much less thrilling affair, however, YHFC manged to control the match and work hard extremely hard defensively when put under some late pressure. Jetstream did manage to score another with 10 minutes of the match remaining but YHFC stood firm and managed to hold on until the final whistle.
A quite magnificent result and a deserved 3 pts.
