Stalemate

Despite an injury list longer than the Forth Road Bridge, York Hearts FC recorded a fine 0-0 draw against Real Nexus last night at a blustery Huntington.
In an exciting and somewhat bruising cup tie, YHFC outplayed their opponents to put their first point on the board in the Cup Group stage.
There were fine performances from all who played, reflected by the fact that the Man of the Match award was split between Barclay Ong and Stu Martel.
With Ibby "the cat" Dall stepping in between the sticks and a reshuffled defence of Steve Carroll and Stu Martel, Real Nexus were limited to a handful of attempts at goal. The YHFC midfield of Alex "Furry Phenomenom" Beddingham and Adam "Bruno" Burnett worked tirelessly to assist the defence and also support joint MOM Barclay Ong in attack. With Calum Beattie and Liam playing support roles in the second half, the team really deserved more than the 1 point they picked up.
We are left to wonder whether all 3 pts would have been taken had regulars Aitchison, Outing, Hardie and Johnston been available for selection.
Next Game - Tues 4th March 9pm v Elvington Floorcraft
