STRIKER Sam Outing was the star of the show, as York Hearts ran riot Browns in last night's derby match.
The 22-year-old "did a de Vries" bagging four goals as Hearts romped to a 5-1 win.
Browns had struck first, midway through the first half, but Hearts bounced back in style and could easily have won by a greater margin.
The greens' goal, which came against the run of play, was a controversial one. Hearts were caught napping at the back, but the goalscorer looked at least a foot inside the area when he poked the ball past Rich in the Hearts goal.
Such set-backs have unsettled York Hearts before, but this time they were spurred on by the injustice. Aitchison missed a gilt-edged chance soon after the goal, but Outing, above, scored just before half-time to make it 1-1 at the turn-around.
Early in the second-half, Outing bagged his and Hearts' second, before making the game safe with the gol of the game. Dall played a long ball from his own half and, with his back to goal, Outing controlled it and swivelled in one movement, before striding forward and lashing it home.
Dall then got in on the act, cutting in from the left to fire low past the keeper, before Outing completed the rout in the closing minutes, finding the net via the far post after a neat pass by Carroll.
The squad was: Johnston, Dall, Aitchison, Carroll, Hardie, Outing, Beattie, Burnett
The man of the match award went, inevitably, to Outing.
