York Hearts FC took part in the fifth annual Keith Walwyn York Fans Tournament on Saturday, at Huntington. Despite having a few players missing, we began brightly with four points and two clean-sheets from our first two games. Thereafter, however, we were plagued by an inability to convert pressure into goals, and ultimately finished a disappointing 5th in group C. That meant we went into the middle of three knock-out competitions, the York Nomads Society Cup. Alas, we were eliminated at the first hurdle, going out 3-2 on penalties to the eventual cup winners Red & Blue B. Despite the results, York Hearts gave a good account of themselves. We'll be back next year.
