It's good to be back
Club members and regular visitors will have noticed that the website has been as quiet as Easter Road in recent months. We can only apologise. Now that the new season is underway, the committee will be making a renewed concerted effort to get things moving again. All feedback, as ever, is welcomed.
Hoots mon!
Time flies when you're having fun. Plans are coming together for the fourth York Hearts St Andrew's Night Celebration. This year's bash will take place on Friday 3 December, and will once again be at the St Clements Club in Count de Burgh Terrace, South Bank, York. Keep an eye on the website or your emails for more details in the coming weeks.
Coming up on TV
The TV bosses clearly know what they're doing - Hearts will be shown live on the box no fewer than seven times between now and the end of November.
The matches are: Hamilton v Hearts (Aug 21, 12 noon); Inverness CT v Hearts (Sep 18, 12 noon); Hearts v Rangers (Oct 2; 12 noon); Hearts v Kilmarnock (Oct 31; 12.15pm); H**s v Hearts (Nov 7, 2.15pm); Hearts v Hamilton (Nov 20; 1pm); and Motherwell v Hearts (Nov 28; 2.15pm).
All matches will be shown live in the White Horse pub in Bootham (just outside the City Walls). All members and non-members welcome.

And we're off
There may have been little cause to celebrate but the Champagne was still flowing as York Hearts got season 2011/11 underway.
Five from York headed north for Hearts' opening SPL game of the season, at home to St Johnstone, and while the match itself was uninspiring, the trip was an enjoyable one.
Cliff Lawrie, Sam Outing, Terence Tate (pictured above), Gavin Aitchison and Helen Leeming boarded the 09:06 from York to Edinburgh in high spirits, passing the time with a combination of beer, crosswords and renewed optimism for the season ahead.
The game was a bit of an anticlimax. Hearts were the better side throughout without ever truly dominating and although Callum Elliot got the opener on 44 minutes, it was cancelled out within seconds of the restart.
A post-match trip to the Gorgie Fish Bar was followed by a more eventful train trip home though, capped off when a group of Eyemouth's finest donated a bottle of rose Champagne to our table. Cue much merriment at the Hearts table!
