Latest YHFC News
York Hearts and Hearts FC today completed a treble for the week after the Thursday night team beat old foes Jet Screen 6-4 (see the YHFC Facebook group for details) to follow up the Tuesday team's 5-0 thrashing of rivals Browns of York and Hearts' 1-0 League Cup quarter final win at Celtic Park.
This is the first time in York Hearts' three year history that all three sides have won in the same week and also the first time the three have won consecutive matches (and in all honesty it will probably be another 3 years before it happens again!). All eyes now switch to Fir Park on Saturday to see if the Jambos can make it an unprecedented quadruple. To follow this up The YHFC Tuesday side hope to end their season at Huntington with a victorious double-header against Yorkshire Puddings and Fire-In-The-Goal, kick-offs at 2030 and 2130 respectivley..

Key dates
The York Hearts AGM will take place on Friday 6 November (venue TBC). The committee positions will be up for election and a few other odds and ends will be discussed. If anyone wants to raise anything or wants information about standing for the committee, contact one of the current committee.
The 3rd York Hearts St Andrew's Night Celebration will then take place on Friday 27 November at the St Clements Club in Count de Burgh Terrace, South Bank. We've slashed the ticket price this year from £25 a head to £15 a head. They'll be on sale very shortly. As before, we'll have ex-players, a quiz, a raffle, an auction and a disco. We'll also have hearty and wholesome Scottish food, with haggis, neeps, tatties, stovies and a vegetarian option. Stay tuned for more details.

The Northern Lights beckon
We will be running a car or minibus to Aberdeen v Hearts on Saturday 17 October. We'll set off very early on the Saturday morning, but will probably stay overnight in either Aberdeen or Edinburgh.
Give the brevity of the European adventure, this is the furthest we'll get to go this season so it'd be good to at least fill the car.
Anyone interested, email yorkhearts@yahoo.co.uk

York Hearts 3-10 St Paul's Church
York Hearts' latest foray into the world of 11-a-side football once again ended in disappointed, when they were routed by St Paul's Church, Holgate.
An under-strength, under-fit and under-paced Hearts side were thumped 10-3 in the match at Oaklands on Sunday.
Neil Sanderson got the pick of the Hearts goals, with a well-placed free-kick that briefly reduced the deficit briefly to 3-2, but the pace of the St Paul's midfield and attack proved decisive.
Thanks to St Paul's for organising both the match and post-match grub at The Fox Inn in Holgate Road.
