Jambo's In The Corner

York Hearts FC face the Corner Pin this Thursday evening in the PlayFootball 7s Premership at Roko Arena (6.30pm). The Jambo's, fresh from a 10-0 drubbing at the hands of Viceroy, look to improve on recent form (Lost-Lost-Lost) and lift themselves from the bottom of the table.

Providing results elsewhere go in their favour, victory could see the maroon outift leapfrong basement rivals Deportivo Lack-Of-Talent and ICH FC. Local bookmakers however, can't see it happening; The heavily favoured Pin have triumphed in six of their last seven games, in which they've amassed a colossal NINETY SIX goals....

YH Hoping to Turn Silver Into Gold

York Hearts' Tuesday night team enter the Annual Keith Walwyn Tournament (KWT) for the third year running tomorrow, with last years agonising 1-0 final defeat at the hands of Bearwood Villa of Birmingham at the front of their minds. The Jambos took home their silver medals, and in the club's relativly short history this was deemed a success, but this year the focus is on gold - and bringing back their first ever silverware into the White Horse come the end of the day.
Kicking off at 1015 is YH's first game, and this could not be any tougher, against Winners of the Keith Walwyn Trophy itself for the past 2 years, Towton Minstermen. Also in Group B are: A Star, Park Lane Healthcare, Red n Blue.Net FC and The Onetouchables. Each group game is ten minutes long and starts thirty-five minutes after the previous one has finished, with any finals due to be played at 4.15pm - As always, support is welcome.
The team has kept a familiar look this year, with Tommy Outing and Calum Beattie becoming the only KWT ever-presents for YH. Sammy Outing, Gav Aitchison, Darren Catanach, Neil Sanderson and Rory Turnbull make up the seven in a team that is made up of the Tuesday night regulars. Outing Snr's NFU Mutual FC team-mate Adam White will cover for Gav after his lunch-time departure, as the quest for success reaches the knockout stages.

The team is meeting at 10am, and once again, all support is welcome.
