Gotta be in it to win it...

Many thanks to everyone who has bought or sold raffle tickets for the Federation of Hearts Supporters Clubs' annual rally.
As a club, we sold 165 tickets in the end, which is a great effort. Good luck in the draw, which takes place in Edinburgh this Sunday.

Hearts ram-raided

York Hearts' 6-A-Side team went down 5-0 tonight to Acomb Raiders at Huntington.

Raffle deadline

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, can people please get any Federation raffle tickets (sold or unsold) back to Gav by tomorrow (Sunday), or call him on 07791 626238. We need to send them up to Edinburgh pronto, along with the money.

As an affiliated supporters club, it's important that we sell as many of these tickets as possible, so if you can eke out even a couple more sales before tomorrow, it'd be hugely appreciated.

A number of YHSC guys will be in The Ackhorne in St Martin's Lane for Burns Night tomorrow if anyone fancies a wee celebration.

YHFC in win shocker

There was high drama at Huntington last night, as York Hearts' Tuesday-night team won their first game in four months.
Sam Outing got the only goal as the makeshift Jambos side saw off Arrogant FC in a tempestuous match.
A fairly even first half ended goalless, but Sam struck midway through the second, finding the net via the post, only for the ball to bounce back into play via the other post. Hearts protested furiously when the referee waved play on, but after consulting some onlookers, he gave the goal, prompting an angry response in turn from Arrogant.
Tempers then flared, with a few meaty challenges going in, but Hearts held strong. Sam finished the game by sending an almighty clearance out of play, over the fence, out of Huntington, over the outer ring road, out of Yorkshire and somewhere towards Newcastle, prompting more dummy-spitting from their downbeat opponents.
Despite the goal and that piece of amusing gamesmanship by Sam, Gav got the man of the match award.

What a day...

York Hearts Supporters Club enjoyed arguably its greatest day on Sunday, as members took in the momentous Scottish Cup victory over city rivals H*bs at Easter Road.

The minibus left York before dawn to make the long drive to Easter Road, but the early start was well worth it, as goals from Christian Nade and Gary Glen sent Hearts into the 5th round, and consigned the wee team to a 108th consecutive year of cup heart-ache.

It was YHSC's biggest trip since the CIS Cup semi-final last January, while several other members gathered in the White Horse to watch the game on TV.

The trip itself was a roaring success. Brian Dall was driver for the day, and we reached Edinburgh in good time with a good sing-song on the way, our spirits dampened only by the border butty van being closed.

After a pre-match chippy on Easter Road, we took our seats among the vociferous Hearts support. After a fairly even first 30 minutes, the game swung in Hearts' favour. H*bs striker Steven Fletcher was red-carded for a two-footed lunge at Christophe Berra, and when Nade gave Hearts the lead before half-time the game was never in doubt. Hearts coasted through the second half, with Gary Glen making it 2-0 in injury time.

If the bus had been buoyant going north it was euphoric on the return, with the singing stopping only briefly, when our text-message was read out on Five Live's 606 phone-in.

Some pictures from the trip can be seen HERE - feel free to add your comments to the photos

Hearts have been drawn at home to Falkirk in the next round. That will be our next bus trip.
